PHE daily wagers worker stage protest demand Regularization

MANDI, Feb 5: The daily rated, consolidated trained workers of PHE Department staged a strong protest demonstration here today in tehsil mandi phe headquater. A large number of PHE workers, which are on protest at PHE headquater rajpura mandi in the morning. The workers from different areas, viz sawjain, Loran, sathra, Fathepur,Galipindi, of Tehsil mandi region under the leadership of fayaz ahmed chowdhary held protest and shouted slogans in support of their demands. They were demanding release the pending wages of four years from the Government and their regularization. Many protesting workers were depicting their demands of release of wages and their regularization. They also raised loud slogans against Previous govt, Commissioner/ Secretary PHE, I&FC and the concerned Advisor.
Besides fayaz ahmed chowdhary and several other workers addressed the gathering and strongly criticized the higher authorities for not releasing their wages for the last over four years. They alleged that neither the previous Govt completed process of their regularization, nor it released wages of the workers despite assurances even on the floor of the Assembly House and outside by the previous Govt. They alleged that their families have been left for starvation. Even they are unable to pay the school fees of their children and feed them. Workers accused it of making "false promises" on regularisation of service of casual labourers working in the PHE Department. The jammu and kashmir UT Govt has also turned a deaf ear towards their plight, they alleged. They pointed out that there are about Thousands of such workers who await Govt response. They urged upon the Governor and the concerned Advisor to address their long pending issue on humanitarian ground. They warned to further intensify their struggle if their pending wages were not released.
Meanwhile Chairman fayaz ahmed chowdhary appealed all the workers in tehsil mandi as well as district poonch would observe `Kam Chhorh Hartal' on Feb 7, 2020. He appealed to all the workers to gear up for the upcoming strike and make it a grand success.
