Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 5: A pumpkin craft activity was organized today in DPS Nagbani for the students of Pre-Primary wing.
By engaging the students in creative pursuits of art and craft, children get the opportunity of expressing themselves in a positive and meaningful way. They also learn to create art work on their own. Keeping in view that the children will have lots of fun with easy pumpkin crafts, an activity related to it was organized in which the student learnt about mixing colours, counting and learning letters. It was found that this activity was perfect as it helped in learning. The students very enthusiastically learnt through the activity as the teachers helped them to pick out some of their favorite artful activities which turned the basic learning .
concepts into awesome playful activities helping them to learn a few things and develop their motor skills by applying simple ideas giving them opportunity for hands-on-play.
On the occasion, Khushboo Shaminotra, Coordinator- junior wing said that engaging the children in art and craft activities at an early age enhances their fine motor-skills and it leads to a tremendous improvement in hand-eye co-ordination which will help them in their later primary years to form letters. She concluded by saying that through art and craft, children learn to value and appreciate art facts across culture and times.
