Several dev projects underway to boost power scenario in J&K: Secy PDD

SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Secretary, Power Development Department, M. Raju today said that several development projects are underway to boost power scenario across Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to several delegations during public grievance camp here today, Raju said that people must come forward to list their grievances. He asked officials of the PDD to remain connected to people on the ground and address their issues on priority.
He said that Power Development Department (PDD) was undergoing major reforms to address shortcomings in power sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that several projects are coming and some are being upgraded under Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP). He said that such measures would end the shortcomings of electricity in Kashmir valley, especially during winter season.
Divulging details about several other projects, he informed that major works are being executed by JKPTCL under Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP).
Raju said that the Government was taking all possible measures to provide hassle-free services to people. He said that good governance and efficient administration are vital for hassle-free and smooth public service delivery mechanism.
Raju hailed the role of officers for restoring the power supply across Kashmir valley during recent spells of snowfall. He said that officers must remain available to avoid any exigency. He said that several development projects were underway to bolster electricity scenario in Jammu and Kashmir
During the day-long grievance camp, the Secretary met several deputations from across Kashmir and gave them patient hearing, assuring them that all their genuine issues would be looked into and addressed accordingly. He said that Government was doing its best to address all the grievances of people and also providing them with better service delivery.
