Trader thrashed, his car snatched but no FIR after three days

Jammu, Feb 6: A trader was thrashed outside district hospital Kathua and his car (i-20) was snatched by attackers but police has refused to register FIR against the accused after lapse of three days of the incident.
Tilak Raj a trader from Pathankot informed that a person had to pay him some money and he had called him outside his office, which is just adjoining the petrol-pump near district hospital Kathua on 4th of February.
“As along with my friend came to Kathua on my i-20 car bearing registration number PB35AF-4556 and instead of paying the money, the accused along with two others snatched the keys of car as well as thrashed him”, Tilak Raj accused, adding that as he was engaged in melee, one of the attacker drove away the car, in which his personal belongings including Laptop, personal documents and a luggage was there.
Raj further alleged that he went to Police Post Hatli Morh for registration of an FIR against the accused and on his application, two police personnel were sent to the house of the accused but he was not available there.
“On the 5th of February, once again I was called by police and similar is the case with 6th of February and so far police has not registered any FIR against the accused”, Tilak Raj alleged, adding that it was beyond his comprehension as why police has not registering FIR and has been buying time. “It can be inferred that the attackers have good say in police department so police has not been taking proper action”, Tilak Raj alleged.
Sub Inspector Vishal Kumar said that as per preliminary investigation it has been come to fore that Tilak Raj has borrowed money from the alleged accused but has refused to return the same to him. The family members of alleged accused were called to the Police post twice and they informed that Tilak Raj had borrowed money but refused to return the same and they also informed that the alleged accused had gone to Uttar Pardesh.
“Soon both the parties will be called and issue will be resolved”, Vishal Kumar said.
