2/14/2020 10:05:43 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ready to contest the Panchayat elections in Jammu & Kashmir, claimed BJP J&K President Ravinder Raina while he chaired crucial meeting of senior party leaders to plan its strategy for upcoming Panchayat polls at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Jugal Kishore Sharma along with J&K BJP General Secretary & former Minister Sunil Sharma, party’s General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, party’s All Morcha Incharge Munish Sharma and former MLC Vibodh Gupta participated in the meeting.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the meeting, said that as the election authority J&K has issued schedule for elections to vacant seats of Sarpanchs and Panchs in the Union Territory of J&K, party activists must also gear up with their activities in their respective areas. He said that as these elections will now be conducted on party symbol unlike earlier held elections in 2018, due to development works, BJP will be having further edge in the elections.
Raina, discussed wide range of issues in the concern of upcoming Panchayat polls. He said that with the efforts of dedicated BJP leaders including elected Sarpanchs, Panchs and BDC Chairmen in earlier poll process, development works are progressing at full pace in both the UTs of J&K and Ladakh especially in the rural set ups. He claimed that with the strong policies for uplifting rural infrastructure and avenues , common mass from rural areas will whole heartedly support BJP in the Panchayat elections.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, stated that unprecedented development has been witnessed in the rural areas, as a result of successful Panchayat elections in the erstwhile state of J&K. The development gained further momentum particularly after the revocation of Articles 370 & 35(a), inviting number of dedicated opportunities in the region. He pointed out that earlier held Panchayat Polls were marred with the vicious attempts by parties like NC, PDP and others giving boycott calls for the Polls, but public negated their campaign and voted in huge numbers thus posing their belief in efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen the grass root level democratic structure in J&K.
