GRS of Block Dhangri without salary for last one year

Early Times Report

Rajouri, Feb 14: Gram Rozgar Sahayaks (GRS) of Block Dhangri of Rural Development Department Rajouri have reportedly not been paid salary for last one year. Surprisingly the cornered Block Development Officer (BDO) has feigned ignorance of the matter.
Sources told Early Times that the GRS employees of block Dangri have been facing huge hardship due to non release of their salary, which has been lying pending for the last one year.
“The salary of GRS employees has been lying pending since August 2018 to 2019. Although they were paid salary of few months in this year but their pending salary has yet to be released by the department,” sources said.
Astonishingly, the concerned BDO Dhangri doesn’t consider this issue of pending salary of GRS, a serious matter, which indicates insensitive approach of the officer. “Block Dhangri has the maximum liabilities of one year pending salary in Rajouri whereas the in other blocks the liability is not more than 2-3 month,” they said.
They alleged that it has been reported that non committee GRS employees have been released salary by the block officer by doing special favour but the committee GRS employees were ignored.
BDO Dhangri Mohammad Haneef, when contacted denied to reply initially but later he said he doesn’t know about it. “It might be the outstanding two to three months not more than that,” he said.
ACD Rajouri Sushil Khajuria said that there should not be a liability of pending salary more than 2-3 months. He said that he would inquire about the matter and would take action if some discrepancies were found.
He further said the GRS employees, who have complaints about this issue, should come to him personally and he would sort out their issue of salary immediately.
