SKUAST-TAJ delegation calls on LG, highlights issues

Jammu, Feb 14: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology- Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) President Dr Vikas Sharma along with a delegation called on Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir who is also happened to be the Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu at Raj Bhavan today.
Dr Vikas Sharma apprised the Governor about the various issues concerned with the welfare of teaching fraternity and overall development of varsity.
President TAJ Dr Vikas talked about much required additional faculties and division (Faculty of Horticulture, Faculty of Dairy Technology and Division of Seed Science and Technology) as these colleges are the need of the hour and their opening should be allowed for the benefit of the University as well as Jammu region. He informed the LG that despite of approval in University Council in its 17 th meeting, assented by the Chancellor vide Communication No. GS-1 (Amend-AUJ) 12-18 /2913 dated 14 th June, 2018, notification by Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu vide notification No.16 Secy. of 2018 dated 11.07.2018 and issuance of the final Order No.71 (Secy) of 2018 dated 11.07.2018 by Registrar SKUAST-Jammu, the university administration till date not granted benefit of CAS of Research Assistants / Technical Assistants reasons best known to them Rechristening of SKUAST-J as Jammu Agricultural University, Removal of adhocism on statutory positions of the university as per rules, filling up of all vacant teaching / non teaching positions, CAS of Programme Assistants were the major demands put forth by the association before the Lieutenant Governer. The Chancellor assured necessary support to varsity.
