Illegal entries on 15645 Kanal land removed in Kishtwar District

Jammu, Feb 28: In compliance to the directions from the Court, the District Administration in Kishtwar removed all the encroachments on 15645 Kanal of land in official records.
As per the details available with Early Times, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara, recently reviewed the progress of eviction of illegal entries on State/ Common/Kahcharai and Forest Land and set the deadlines for the officials to clear all such entries without any delay.
The task has been assigned to respective Tehsildars on the directions of Supreme Court dated: 28/01/2011 in case titled Jagpal Singh Vs State of Punjab and Others, read with Hon’ble High Court Order in PIL No 19/2011 titled S K Bhalla Vs State of Jammu and Kashmir and others. The orders of Administrative Department issued vide Government Order dated:28/11/2011 & 25/08/2015 have also been complied with.
After assuming the charge of District Kishtwar Tara, 1691 Kanal and 12.5 Marla State Land, 44 Kanal common land, 222 Kanal and 6 Marla Kacharie Land and 2775 Kanal and 13 Marla Forest Land — thus total 4733 Kanal and 11.5 Marla land we’re cleared this month while last month 10911 Kanal and 14 Marla land has been cleared from entries last month under the Deputy Commissionership of Angrez Singh Rana.
Pertinently, the drive has been intensified on the directions of Pawan Kotwal, Principal Secretary, Revenue Department. It has been directed to expunge all the illegal entries on State/ Common /Kahcharai & Forest Land by the end of this month and submit compliance in this regard.
DC Kishtwar immediately directed all Tehsildars to comply with the aforesaid directions and report compliance within stipulated time frame in order to restore the land to its legal status so that evicted land can be gainfully utilized for developmental purposes as envisaged under the laid down framework prescribed by the administration of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
