Two day seminar on 'Shiv Tatva' held

JAMMU, Feb 28: A Two-day Seminar on 'Vaidikvangmaye Kashmirshaivdarshanparamparayanch Shivatatva' ('Shivatatva in the Traditions of Vaidic Literature and Kashmir Shaiv Darshan') was held at Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Sh. Ranbir Campus, Jammu, by the Departments of Veda and Sarvadarshan.
Dean, Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit Vishvavidyalaya, Prof. Rajeshwar Prasad Mishra was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address, he said that various branches of Knowledge and all theist philosophies are based on the Vedas, which are dedicated to the ideal of benevolence to all the creatures. This ideal is attainable only by following the path enunciated in the Vedas and other related literatures.
Prof. Hari Ram Mishra of JNU was the Special Guest who claimed that all the crises facing the world today arise from ignorance. He said that if man realizes the Shivatatva in his own self, then surely all the problems in the world can be uprooted.
The Inaugural Session was presided over by Prof. Madan Mohan Jha.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Mishra welcomed the guests while the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ghanshyam Mishra.
Prof. Shiv "Nirmohi", speaking as the Chief Guest in the Valedictory Function, said that the tradition of Kashmir Shaiv Darshan is rooted in the Vedas, and has a universal relevance.
Special guest, Prof. Murli Mahohar Pathak presented Shiva as the propounder of all the branches of Knowledge and highlighted the Shivatatava in the Vedas.
In his Presidential address, Principal Prof. Vasudev Sharma said that among all the Indian Philosophies, Kashmir Shaiv Darshan is the most relevant, and should be followed diligently.
Prominent among the various participants from the other Universities were Dr. Rameshwar Chaturvedi, Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla, Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, Dr. Lakshmi Mishra, Dr. D. Dayanath, and Dr. Dhanesh Kumar Pandey.
Prof. Satish Kumar Kapoor welcomed the guests while the Vote of Thanks was presented by the Campus Principal.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Head of the Department of Veda, and Dr. Ghanshyam Mishra Head of the Department of Sarvadarshan were the Joint conveners of the Seminar.
