DLSA organizes cricket tournament in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: To promote the concept of Social Justice and to encourage the participation of youth in sports activities, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Udhampur organized a two days long cricket tournament at Delhi Public School, Udhampur in association with Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur .
The tournament was inaugurated Chairman DLSA (Principal District and Sessions Judge), Udhampur, Mohan Lal Manhas in presence of, Secretary DLSA, Sandeep Kour , District Youth Service and Sports Officer Udhampur, Swaran Singh, Chairman DPS School, Para Legal volunteers, school children and large number of public were present on the occasion. In the tournament three teams which included Team of Court Employees, Bar Association and Prosecution wing of Jammu & Kashmir Police participated.
The inaugural match was played between Bar Association Udhampur and Judicial employees of district court Udhampur on Wednesday which was won by Bar Association by 30 runs . On the concluding day today final Match was played between Bar Associating and Prosecution wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police team which was won by Prosecution team by 19 runs . Gourav Khajuria of Bar team was declared Man of the tournament. Rahul Bargotra Captain of Court Employees team also scored 80 score in tournament On the occasion, Chairman DLSA along Secretary DLSA interacted with the cricket players. In his address, Chairman DLSA commended the participants for their active participation in sports and also encouraged them to fully utilize their inherent will power and strength. He also gave winner trophy to Kuldeep Bhat captain of winning team and runner up to J.D Slathia captain of Bar team. Participation certificates were also given to players who participated in the tournament. Secy DLSA also addressed the players and ensured them of support in their future sports endeavours. Tournament culminated with the presentation of vote of thanks by Secy DLSA.
