Jammu, Mar 1: Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas while speaking on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Guru Ravidas here at Ravidas Sabha Paloura batted for peace and prosperity amongst the society, As today a grand function was organised by the Ravidas Sabha members to commemorate the birthday celebrations of the great saint
During the function Various other prominent persons and social workers highlighted the work done of Guru Ravidas and urged upon the people to follow the path of peace for all round development of the society. MP Manhas also highlighted the role of Ravidas Sabha who have been organising the programme every year in a grand way at Paloura wherein thousands of devotees visit Ravidas temple on the day. He also added that we must abolish the practice of untouchability, and should put an end to the differentiation on the basis of caste colour and creed which in turn creates a gap amongst the society and creates hurdles for it’s overall development,” he said”. He also added and highlighted the role of Late Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh who tried to put an end to the social evils throughout his tenure. |
