ACB produces chargesheet against six persons

Jammu, Mar 1: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced charge sheet (Challan) against 6 accused persons of CA&PD department in a case of misappropriation of Sugar at Gulab Bagh Shaheedgunj Godowans in Case FIR No. 21/2014 U/S5 (1) (c)(d) r/w 5(2) &K P.C ACT Svt. 2006 and sections 409, 120-B,RPC of P/S ACB Kashmir in terms of 173 Cr PC before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar for judicial determination.
The instant case was registered in VOK now ACB 0n 05-06-2014 on the outcome of a Joint Surprise Check (JSC) conducted by the Vigilance Organization (now ACB) on the allegations of misappropriation of levy sugar in CA&PD Department Godowns at Gulabbagh Shaheed Ganj Srinagar and subsequent ascertaining of stock position revealed a total quantity of sugar (ground balance) weighed/ dispatched to the extent of 12571.7 Qtls in Godown No. 19 as against the book balance of 16309.64 Qtls shown by the Godown staff in their statement resulting in the net deficit/shortage of 3737.90 Qtls of Levy Sugar. During the course investigation it was substantiated that embezzlement of stock in levy sugar Godowns in huge quantity i.e. 3737 Qtls and 90 Kgs has taken place and that the officers/officials of CA&PD Department namely (1)Fayaz Ahmad Bhat then Tehsil Supply Officer (Overall supervision), (2)Altaf Ahmad Bhat then Store Keeper, (3)Mehrajudin Khan then Assistant Store Keeper, (4) Aijaz Ahmad Bhat then Assistant Store Keeper, (5)Abdul Gani Shah then Assistant Store Keeper and (6)Gh. Nabi Bhat S/O Gh Mohammad Bhat R/O Natipora, then Assistant Storekeeper, who were entrusted with the job of proper receipt, safe custody and subsequent dispatch of Levy Sugar are responsible for shortage and embezzlement of the above stock of sugar.
