Early Times Report

RAJOURI, Mar 3: The students of Baba Institute of Paramedical Medical (BIPM) Rajouri accused its Chairman of playing with their careers by not issuing them examination roll numbers.
A protest demonstration was staged out today by the students against the institute by blocking road. They alleged that the examinations of Semester-I was scheduled to be held from March 1, 2020 but due to non-issuance of roll numbers, exams could not be started on time.
The protesting students were having training in various streams including FMPHW, GNM, Pharmacist, MMPHW, Lab Assistant of 2017-18 batch from this institute, they alleged that exams in other colleges have begun but in their institute same are being delayed due to known reasons.
Despite strong resentment against the institute, the chairman Sajad Mir never turned up to the students to hear their problems instead he used to convey his messages of holding exams soon. The credibility of this institute is also under scanner for many misdeeds, which have come to fore now. The institute has been shifted three times in last few years.
Students said that they belong to remote areas of the district and said that they have paid huge amount as a fee to the tune of Rs 50,000- 60,000 for different courses but its chairman has been playing with their careers and never listen to their problems.
They alleged that management has wasted their precious times and accused the faculty members also of threatening them on being asked about the issue. They said that college has been doing fraud with them and an investigation should be conducted against its owners.
Agitated students blocked the road for about one and half hour to register their protest. Meanwhile, SHO Rajouri reached on spot and pacified the agitating students and assured them that he would take up the matter with chairman and other concerned authorities, thereafter the students dispersed from the spot. Meanwhile, protesting students marched towards the office of DDC Rajouri to meet him with a demand to hold inquiry into the entire issue.
Pertinently, the institute was also found on wrong foot for its misdeeds wherein High Court had directed it to pay Rs 50,000 to a student as damages.
When contacted, the DDC Rajouri Nazeer Sheikh said that he would personally look into the matter and will ask chairman of the institute to clear his position and action would be taken if found guilty. He further said that he is very concerned about students' career and will not let their future spoil.
