Post Aug 5, separatists lose address, relevance
3/4/2020 12:13:47 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Mar 3: Separatists, who preached hate and sedition, in Kashmir for the past three decades have lost their addresses after J&K’s reorganization on August 5 last year.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Hurriyat hawk, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, is bed ridden, Hurriyat dove, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been rendered speechless and so-called JKLF chief Yasin Malik is in Tihar Jail, along with Aasiya Andrabi, Shabir Shah and others .” He said, “These separatists dominated the discourse in Kashmir since 1990. They acted as stooges of Pakistan and left no stone unturned to pursue the agenda of their bosses sitting across the Line of Control. Post August 5 2019, these so-called leaders have been cut to size and have been shown their worth.”
The analyst said, “The elements inimical to peace have been told in clear terms that they can no more dictate terms and take people hostage just for the sake of appeasing Pakistan. So many things in Kashmir have changed post August 5, the self-styled media cells of separatist organizations have become defunct and their henchmen, who always waited for a chance to set Kashmir on fire, too have disappeared.”
An observer said, “The developments which have taken place during the past six months have proved it beyond doubt that erstwhile regimes in Centre and the J&K failed to handle Kashmir and gave a chance to the people like Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik to play ball with Pakistan. These so-called leaders know it very well that if they try to play the ball with Pakistan at this point of time they will end up in big trouble.”
He said, “The crackdown launched by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) on the funding channels of separatists has brought many things to fore. The biggest truth which has come to light is that the so-called leaders of Kashmir were filling their coffers by selling the dead bodies of Kashmiris.”
Another analyst said, “These stooges stand exposed. People have come to know that they built mansions by selling the blood of the innocent people and their only aim was to keep Kashmir on precipice.”
He said, “Had these separatists been nipped in the bud, Kashmir would not have witnessed bloodshed and mayhem. Soft policy of the former regimes towards separatists and terrorists did lot of damage. These stooges don’t deserve any concessions. The need of the hour is to hold them accountable for their misdeeds and misadventures.”
