JAMMU, Mar 5: A deputation of NHM Employees headed by Rohit Seth, president NHM Employees Association, including Dr Raman Sharma General Secretary, Dr Arun Sr. Vice President, Mohit Seth Vice President, Mukesh Singh Secretary met Lt Governor (LG) J&K UT, Girish Chandra Murmu today.
On behalf of thousands of contractual employees of all categories working in National Health Mission Jammu & Kashmir, the deputation presented a memorandum to the LG highlighting their pending demands and problems and to seek their redressal at the earliest.
The deputation while projecting their demands said that there is great disparity of salary between the NHM staff of UT of Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Haryana and several other states adding that the NHM staff in J&K is being paid far less than other counter parts, in the light of natural justice, doctrine of equal pay for equal work and constitutional rights, we may be granted the same wage grade as is given to employees of NHM in Delhi and Haryana pending regularization.
The deputation demanded that the employees working in National Health Mission UT Jammu & Kashmir may be granted leave benefits as per agreement arrived at and on the analogy of the states of Orissa and Tripura which they are legitimately entitled to. It also demanded release of salary of the NHM Staff for the agitation/termination period besides release of salary on time was also demanded.
The deputation also raised the issues of Employee Provident Fund, additional allowances for education of their children and provision of health insurance cover.
LG gave the deputation a patient hearing, all the demands were discussed in a very cordial and positive atmosphere. The LG after hearing the deputation assured them of considering their demands favorably.
