3/5/2020 10:46:14 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 5: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has expressed concern over the ESI Hospital Bari Brahamana, which refused to provide the Secondary Specialized Treatment to Insured persons (which is not available in the Hospital due to non availability of requisite infrastructure and Doctors) from the Private Empanelled hospitals.
A meeting of the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (Regd) was held today under the Presidentship of Sh. Lalit Mahajan, president BBIA in the presence of Sh. Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President, Sh. Ajay Langer, Vice President, Sh. Viraaj Malhotra, General Secretary, Sh. Rajesh Jain Secretary, Sh. Vivak Singhal, Treasurer and other members of the Association to discuss the issue in respect of refusal of Secondary Treatment to Insured Persons by ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana, Distt. Samba Jammu from Private Empanelled Hospital.
The Members present in the meeting shows their serious concern that the ESI Hospital, Bari Brahmana refused to provide the Secondary Specialized Treatment to Insured persons (which is not available in the Hospital due to non availability of requisite infrastructure and Doctors) from the Private Empanelled Hospital as per ESIC Headquarter office order no U-16/12/01/2018/agenda /reporting item -med-II dt 27/01/2020 resulting great resentment amongst the Industrial Workers registered with the ESI Corporation who are paying their hard earned money towards the contribution to the Corporation.
In this regard the matter has been taken up with the Medical Superintendent ESI Corporation Bari Brahmana who intimated that the the treatment from private empanelled Hospitals has been discontinued due to instructions from the Head Quarter for the reason best known to them and shown his helplessness to resolve the issue.
It is pertinent to mention here that ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana failed to provide Specialized Treatment to the Industrial workers in the Hospital due to non availability of the Doctors and other infrastructure and refer the patients to Govt. Medical College Jammu where it will take months to get the operations dates due to long waiting queues resulting the patient have no option but to get the treatment from Private Hospitals and paying the amount from their hard earned money for treatments from Private hospitals whereas it is the responsibility of the ESI Corporation to provide the requisite healthcare treatment as they are collecting Crores of Rupees from Employees as well as Employers contribution.
They requested Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Labour and Employment (Independent Charge), Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India, Director General, Employee's State Insurance Corporation, Commissioner/Secretary, Labour Department, J&K Govt., Regional Director, ESIC to look in to the matter and issue necessary directions to the concerned Officials for the restoration of the facility to Insured Persons to get the Healthcare treatment form Private Empanelled Hospitals for the Specialized Treatment which is not available in the ESI Hospital Bari Brahmana, Samba, Jammu.
