School heads sensitized about Coronavirus prevention

DODA, Mar 5: Continuing its efforts to disseminate awareness about Coronavirus prevention across the district, Doda district administration today sensitized the heads of the schools about the precautions to be taken to protect the students.
The program was chaired by District Development Commssioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode and attended by SSP Mumtaz Ahmed, ADC Bhaderwah, Rakesh Kumar, PO ICDS, Shahida Parveen; CEO BDA, Dr Rajendra Khajuria; CMO, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed; Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Dr Yaqoob Mir, District Health Officer, Dr Tariq Masood; Chief Education Officer, Tariq Hussain; ACR Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani; SDM Gandoh, Pritam Lal Thapa; SDM Assar Rishi Kumar; DEPO Ayaz Mughal; ZEOs, BMOs and SHOs.
While addressing the school heads, the DDC asked them to get well acquainted with the preventive measures and spread the same among the students across the district.
DDC informed the participants that corona virus mainly spread in individuals after coming in close physical contact with the affected person, if any, and about 90% physical contact are being made through handshake.
The DDC directed them to carry out intensive health and hygiene exercise in their respective institutions for the next 10-15 days in four shifts, primarily focusing on proper hand washing techniques to inculcate the habit in students.
Promotion of use of water and soap and promotion of alcohol based hand sanitisers among the students were stressed upon.
He also directed the health department to organise maximum training programs for the Sarpanchs, Panchs, Asha and Anganwadi workers of the district about Coronavirus prevention to further disseminate the same at micro level.
He directed the ADCs, SDMs to strictly monitor the schools to ensure that the washing sessions are regularly being conducted.
DDC also directed the police officers to place a surveillance team at Jathi and Khaleni alongwith health officials to record every inward movement to the district. The SDMs were asked to collect the information with the help of local sources about the travel history of any individual to any affected countries from December till date and to communicate the same to the district or hospital administration so that necessary preventive measures can be taken without any delay.
Earlier CMO, Dr Mehwish discussed in detail the causes, symptoms and preventive measures against the virus.
