JAMMU, Mar 5: The poor run of Jammu and Kashmir U-19 women team continues as the team has only registered just two wins in the tournament and are placed 8th in “Plate group”.
Though Jammu and Kashmir started their campaign with the winning start by defeating Mizoram by seven wickets but after that the team could not perform well. In second game the team faced Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir eve team had no answer to the bowling efforts of Chandigarh.
Jammu and Kashmir eve team managed just scored 71 runs, which was chased down by Chandigarh by three wickets down. In third game, the Jammu and Kashmir faced Manipur and J&K won the game with an ease.
Follow that Jammu and Kashmir eve team lost all the matches after one another.
Next they had a neck to neck competition with Meghalaya as Jammu and Kashmir scored 110 runs, Meghalaya chased down the score by nine wickets down.
After Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir travelled to Puducherry, were they faced Nagaland. In the match, Jammu and Kashmir eve team yet again failed to chase the target of 144 runs as Jammu and Kashmir won the game by 34 runs.
While, today, Jammu and Kashmir eve team, faced Bihar where Jammu and Kashmir eve managed to score just 70 runs. Jammu and Kashmir eve team won the toss and elected to bat first and had failed to build a partnership courtesy five wicket haul from Sakshi. Sakshi took five wickets in her 10 over spell and gave only 23 runs and bowled three maidens.
Mehak Jan was the highest score getter for Jammu and Kashmir, she scored 23 runs. In Jammu and Kashmir’s 70 run score Bihar bowlers helped them bowling 11 extras.
For Bihar it was too easy, Vishalakshi scored 20 runs and Captain Shruti added 31 runs to take team home. Jammu and Kashmir will next face Arunachal Pradesh on 8th March.
