DH Kishtwar to soon have 100 bedded quarantine section

KISHTWAR, Mar 6: District Hospital Kishtwar would soon have a 100 bedded quarantine section equipped in all aspects as part of its preparedness to combat Corona virus.
The hospital is also upgrading the existing 20 bedded isolation ward with special ICUs as also conducting workshops and sensitization program for own staff and those of private hospitals/laboratories/clinics for general public.
The move is being taken on the direction of deputy commissioner, Rajinder Singh Tara, issued by him here at meeting convened to review the preparedness of civil and police administration departments to prevent the spread of Corona-virus.
The DDC directed to keep watch on the passengers at entrance points at Drabshalla, Hasti and Helipad Kishtwar and conduct Preliminary screening of passengers, having travel history to countries affected by the virus.
The Chief Education Officer, PO, ICDS and District Manager NRLM were asked to conduct mass awareness through teachers, Anganwadi Workers and Self Help groups to educate people living in every nook and corner of the District about its symptoms, prevention and treatment.
He also exhorted upon the General Managers of NHPC and private companies associated with execution of Hydro Power projects and representatives of the hotels and transport association to disseminate the information about these precautions among their workers in their establishments.
Later, the DDC visited District Hospital and took stock of preparedness to tackle any such infections.
He also inspected the 20 bedded Isolation ward and reviewed the medicinal stock in the hospital.
The DDC asked the security forces to vacate the old hospital building and directed the CMO to convert it into 100 bedded quarantine house equiped in all aspects to fight against deadly Corona virus.
