Youth arrested during CASO in Pulwama Another booked under PSA shifted to Sub-Jail Mattan

SRINAGAR, Mar 6: The security forces in Kashmir valley arrested two youth in different areas of South Kashmir here on Friday.
As per the reports available, a youth was arrested during a nocturnal Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in South Kashmir's Pulwama village. Further the security forces had laid CASO yesterday night which ended on Friday morning.
An official said that cordon and search operation was launched in Monghama village of Pulwama district in dead of night after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area. Cordon ended peacefully at around 7 am in the morning, he said, adding that a youth was arrested during the operation.
The youth was identified as Waseem Bashir Dar. A senior police official said that he has been arrested for questioning over having links with militants. While on the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Police have booked a youth under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Redwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and shifted him to Mattan Jail in Anantnag.
Official said that Mubarak Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Rehman Dar of Redwani Kulgam was shifted to sub jail Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Thursday after execution of the PSA.
He said that Mubarak was arrested by police after he went missing on 28/10/2018 and then joined Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), a militant outfit. He added that a case was registered in PS Kulgam under FIR number 07/2019 under section 13, 18, 19, 20, 38, 39 ULA Act.
The youth was booked under PSA vide order number 81/DMK/PSA/28/02/2020 and has been accordingly shifted to Sub-Jail Mattan in Anantnag. A police officer while confirmed it said that the youth was active with LeT militant outfit and as such he was booked under the PSA.
