ACB produces charge-sheet against revenue officials in Special Anti Corruption Court

JAMMU, Mar 6: Anti-corruption Bureau Doda, has produced Challan against accused revenue officials namely Lochan Singh, Anim Sharma and a civilian Sandeep Khajuria in a graft case before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Udhampur in case FIR No.09/2018 under section 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) of J&K P.C Act and section 4-A P.C Act (Amendment-2014) and section 120-B/RPC registered in P/S VOJ (now ACB).
On 5-04-2018 complainant Sudesh Sharma R/O Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampur lodged a written complaint in P/S VOJ (now ACB) alleging therein that he is inhabitant of village Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampur having property measuring 7 Kanal 18 Marlas under Khasra No.620,623,624 & 621 situated at Mouza Kashirah Tehsil & District Udhampur.
He had submitted an application to the revenue officials for issuance of Farad of land measuring 10 Marlas under Khsara No.621, but the said officials demanded Rs.1,20,000/-(One lac & twenty thousand) as illegal gratification from him for issuance of the Farad of the said piece of land in his favour. Accordingly, on the basis of the said complaint instant case was registered in PS VOJ (now ACB) and a successful trap was laid by the vigilance under the command of Kamaljeet Singh DySP.
During the trap/investigation of the case Anim Sharma (Patwari) Halqa Kashirah Udhampur was caught red handed/arrested while demanding and accepting Rs.1,20,000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant. During the trap one Sandeep Khajuria accomplice to whom the said Patwari handed over the bribe money after demanding and accepting the same from the complainant was also taken into custody by the vigilance.
After completion of the investigation the case was processed for obtaining government sanction from the competent authority and after obtaining the sanction the case was challaned in the competent court for judicial determination.
