MENDHAR, Mar 6: Tehsil been declared as one of the dirtiest Tehsil of the distt even the posh locality of Surankote tehsil is grappling with the menace of indiscriminate dumping of garbage thereby causing hazardous unhygienic conditions for the residents.Heaps of garbage can be seen at any given point of time, but the authorities concerned have failed to pay any heed to this issue of grave concern for the residents.
People from the said area dumping garbage on gurdwara road and Hospital area. As the Municipal Corporation (MC) does not carry regular cleaning, the garbage remains dumped for weeks and months. As a result, the residents are prone to various communicable diseases. Sohil said residents have to face this problem on a daily basis as the MC authorities of Surankote does not remove the garbage for dumping away from busy market and residential of gurdwara areas. |
