Jammu, Mar 6: With the focus of imparting digital marketing skills, The Business School, University of Jammu conducted a four day workshop in the domain of Social Media Marketing. Under the vast scope of social media marketing, it aimed to exploit the scope of Facebook marketing.
In this workshop, the students of second semester got the opportunity to have a four day interaction session with Rajinder Gupta, an alumnus of The Business School , who has a vast experience of around 25 years in Corporate sector, a founder of Jammu Marketing and a freelancer in Jammu providing digital marketing solutions through his platform 666 Digital. The purpose of this workshop was to delve into the insights as to how Facebook can be identified as an important platform for a marketer to promote the product and services and enhance the skills required for it. The workshop focused primarily on creating, handling and promoting Facebook pages. The workshop started with building an understanding about the algorithm being used by Face book and the parameters to be used according to it to market the Facebook pages. The expert gave an insight about how to handle social media pages effectively and efficiently. He explained various new terminologies to the students like engagements, URL editing, page role sharing, etc. Also Mr. Gupta discussed the importance of content that is used to market the social media pages. The workshop focused on various channels of advertising that can be used on Facebook. The workshop concluded on a healthy note where the expert handled various doubts and queries of the students regarding social media as a tool for promotion.
