Ramban police seizes 345 kg poppy, 3 accused arrested

Ramban, Mar 18: War on drugs continues in Ramban District as part of one of the important commandments of JKP Hqrs and in the process, 345 Kilograms of Poppy Straw has been recovered from three different vehicles and three persons arrested.
Giving details of the incidents, SSP Ramban Haseeb ur Rehman told that following specific informations, Nakas were laid at T - Chowk and Chakorinallah NHW Banihal and during checking of vehicles a Punjab bound truck bearing registration number PB13AL- 6792 driven by one Baljinder Singh S/O Sakinder Singh a resident of Asekhlan Ludhiana Distt Ludhiana got checked at T - Chowk and recovered 40 Kgs poppy straw from the said truck. On this a case FIR No. 43/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered.
Another Punjab bound truck bearing registration number PB11AY-9368 driven one Mandeep Singh S/O Paramjeet Singh R/O Loharkangana Tehsil Hoshiarpur Punjab got checked at T - Chowk NHW Banihal and recovered 280 kg poppy Straw from the said truck. On this a case FIR No. 44/2020 U//S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered.
Meanwhile, one Tata mobile bearing registration number PB29N-9621 driven by one Satpal Singh S/O Balkar Singh R/O Butan Tehsil Dilma Kapoorthala Punjab got checked at Chakorinallah by IC PP Jawhar Tunnel and recovered 25 Poppy Straw. On this Case FIR No. 45/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered. All the three FIRs have been registered at Police Station Banihal.
Recoveries have been made by the teams of PS Banihal and PP JT headed by SHO Police Station Banihal Abid Hussain Bukhari and SI Waseem Mehraj I/C PP JT under the close supervision of SDPO Banihal Ashish Gupta, Addl SP Ramban Sh Sanjay Parihar and overall supervision of Sh Haseeb ur Rehman SSP Ramban.
