Jammu, Mar 18: Swach Bharat Mission (SBM) launched by Central Government is being allegedly derailed by Municipal Committee Khour and Jourian of Jammu district.
Sources told Early Times lakhs of rupees are being allegedly embezzled in the garb of purchases for required stuffs for cleanliness but the fact of the matter is that on ground nothing is being done. “The safaikaramcharies are not provided with gloves, masks and lime dust for their daily cleanliness work,” they added. Recently, Early Times had exposed that expired soaps were given to the safaikaramcharies for cleaning their hands. “Not only this, huge expenditure has been shown in papers on works like painting graffiti on walls to create awareness about Swach Bharat Abhiyan, flex for publicity purposes, POL for officials vehicles and other protective things. But no such expenditure has been made,” they alleged.
They said even the street lights are not functioning in these MCs, which shows the casual approach of the concerned officials, who are hardly bother to take corrective measure so that the people may get some benefits. |
