Post Office Thathri not functioning for last two weeks, people suffer

Doda, Mar 18: The Indian villages have the only fastest source of sending documents, exam fee form, insurance installments and many more through Post Office Service, but its very strange that, in digital era postal service in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory villages is not working properly.
A Thathri town of Doda district is central place of three constituencies, but unfortunate from last two week, people from different villages of Doda forced to suffer by the department concerned officials as, work condition of Thathri Post Office is remain shut due to technical problem. While speaking to Early Times, Pankaj Kumar, farmer from coming from far flung areas complaint that Post Office Thathri works is remain suspended from many days due to technical fault, people are being disappointed from last two wek due to non-functional as it can’t work for speed post as well. People alleged that, we have to travel many kilometers on daily basis for postal work at Thathri, and return to home without undelivered the packages, fees etc.
When contacted to concerned officials of Thathri Post office, they said that, Due to technical fault in our system,upgradation work and non-functional of internet services all works remain suspended from last many days and we already compliant to higher authorities in this matter but nothing has done. He said the, the work will not continue till the upgradation of system. Later, Correspondent tried to contact the Head office Udhampur but no one attended the call. Later, same problem discussed with Tehsildar Thathri, he assured to sort out the matter in a day.
