Coronavirus: Justice Mittal inspects court premises to assess implementation of preventive measures

JAMMU, Mar 18: Chief Justice Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Gita Mittal today inspected court premises to assess the implementation of prevention measures to combat the spreading of contagious coronavirus.
Justice Mittal, who is also Patron-in-Chief J&K Legal Services Authority, was accompanied by Justice Rajesh Bindal Executive Chairman JKLSA along with the members of the Committee constituted by the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Jammu, R.K. Wattal.
While reviewing the measures being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Chief Justice said the curve of the novel coronavirus can be flattened by modifying day-to-day behaviour and habits, as impressed upon in the guidelines/advisories issued by the World Health Organization, High Court and Government in letter and spirit.
She said by enhancing hygiene, enforcing and encouraging cleanliness, keeping surrounding disinfected, sanitized and practising social distancing will break the chain of the transmission of coronavirus infection.
Justice Rajesh Bindal also spoke on the occasion and appealed people to heed to the guidelines as prescribed in the various advisories. He said by following the simple guidelines and preventive measures the disease can be prevented from spreading.
Pertinently, to curtail the spread of the coronavirus infection, Justice Gita Mittal has ordered the closure of all eateries, Canteens, Bar Rooms in all the premises of Court Complexes in Jammu District.
Judicial Officers, Advocates, Staff Members were advised to strictly adhere to the guidelines as prescribed by the High Court. Advocates were advised to cause their presence in the Courts only in matters of urgent nature. Litigants were asked not to attend the Court on a routine basis. All Courts premises were also inspected with respect to their cleanliness and sanitization.
The Committee headed by Naushad Ahmed Khan, Secretary DLSA/Jammu, constituted for taking appropriate remedial steps in combating coronavirus infection, has put in use thermal scanners (non-touch) at every entry/gate of the Court.
Adequate supply of sanitizers and masks are-being provided to-all the Judicial Officers, Staff Members, Advocates and appearing litigants.
