DDC pays visit to landslide hit areas

Rajouri,Apr 7: To take a first hand appraisal of the damage caused due to the massive landslide and to assess the ground situation, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh along with a team of officers on Monday paid a visit to the landslide hit Kandi area of tehsil Koteranka.
It is pertinent to mention here that two residential structures got damaged whereas 12 families were evacuated after a massive landslide hit Kandi village of Kotranka tehsil in Rajouri district yesterday evening.
During his visit, the DDC took stock of the ground position of the damage inflicted to the houses and other structures of the inhabitants.He also interacted with the affected families and assured them that district administration Rajouri shall provide them all possible assistance and they need not to panic. He also assured them that all possible steps for their relief and rehabilitation shall be taken in a time bound manner.
As many as ten number of tents were provided for the temporary stay of the affected families. DC directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka and Tehsildar Koteranka to start the process of completing of required formalities so that the compensation for the loss of property damage could be provided to the affected families within shortest possible time. The ration was also distributed among the victims.
The DDC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Koteranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma, Assistant Commissioner and District Panchayat Officer, Dr. Abdul Khabir.
