VIJAYPUR, Apr 7: Despite clear instructions from Centre government to provide free ration to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families as well as the migrant labourers due to complete lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
Sources told Early Times that ever since the lockdown, the poor families and the migrant labourers hailing from other states and residing in various part of the district have not been provided with free ration which was promised by the center government.
"The Samba Administration has miserably failed to implement the order and the poor people have been left to starvation. Even the local officers have not been giving heed to this problem being faced by this unfortunate lot," alleged Shindo Devi Panch from Vijapur tehsil.
Ex Panch Sewa Ram, Swarn Raj of village Swankha Morh of tehsil Vijaypur also criticized the district administration of its apathy towards the poor families who have been dying without availability of food.
They alleged that ADC, who has been made Nodal Officer, has not been responding their phone calls in case of any emergency. "ADC has been given responsibility to take care of any problem being faced by the people in the district but he doesn't pick the phone calls of the people which are in distress," they alleged.
