Kishtwar Admin taking no chances
Sends people returning from Jammu Red Zones into quarantine

Jammu, Apr 7: The district administration Kishtwar on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara has ordered isolation and quarantine of all the people reaching Kishtwar from Red Zone areas of Jammu District. The district administration has taken extraordinary measures to prevent the entry of deadly Coronavirus into Kishtwar District that has witnessed no postive case of COVID-19 so far. The district has under lockdown since last over three weeks.
In last 48 hours, 48 persons were put under quarantine and isolation at various quarantine facility centers established by the District Administration spread across the district. The total number of people under quarantine, surveillance and isolation has reached to 544 in Kishtwar District.
The official data accessed by Early Times reveals that 38 persons are under Home Quarantine at Kishtwar Medical block while 148 persons are under active surveillance, 62 persons under administrative quarantine and one person under hospital quarantine whose samples for COVID-19 test have been sent. Reports are expected by Wednesday.
In Medical block Chatroo, 10 persons are under home quarantine, 108 under active surveillance and 4 persons under Administrative Quarantine.
In Medical block Padder, 32 persons are under home quarantine, 45 persons are under active surveillance and 4 persons under Administrative Quarantine and in Medical block Dachhan, 27 persons are under home quarantine, 55 persons under active surveillance and 10 persons under Administrative surveillance. The 81 persons under administrative quarantine were kept at twelve different quarantine centers with 13 kept at ANMT school Kishtwar, 8 at Sarai District Hospital Kishtwar, 6 at Kishtwar hotel, 4 at Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel Chatroo, 4 at Himalayan Cultural Society Padder, 3 at Dak Banglow Inshan, 3 at Government Middle Tander Dachhan and 4 at Forest Building Yurdoo while all the quarantine persons kept at Bursar House NHPC were allowed to move after they completed the required quarantine period.
The official data also revealed that 319 persons have so far completed the quarantine period which include 224 persons under quarantine period and 95 completed surveillance period. During all these days Kishtwar administration has sent five samples for testing and among them four were found negative while the report of one test is still awaited.
Speaking to Early Times, Dy. CMO Kishtwar Dr Fareed Ahmed said that all the people who had arrived from Red Zones of Jammu have been put under administrative quarantine as per the strict instructions issued by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar. He said majority of the people will complete the quarantine period in next few days and will be sent back to homes after following the due protocol.
