Govt orders mass promotion of class 1 to 9, class 11 students of Jammu division

Jammu, Apr 7: Amid Coronavirus outbreak, Jammu and Kashmir administration have decided to give mass promotion to the students from classes 1st to 9th and for class 11th in Jammu division in view of the prevailing situation due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
The order over the mass promotion of students of summer zone was issued today by deputy secretary to the government, school education department, Jammu and Kashmir.
The government has also directed that the students who were to appear in bi-annual/private Class 11 examination in Kashmir division also be considered for mass promotion.
As per the order under the subject of mass promotion of students of class 1st to 9th Jammu and class 11 th (summer zone) and Bi annual/Private Examination Winter Zone falling under jurisdiction of JKBOSE.
It reads, “For class 1st to 9th of Jammu division, all students studying in classes 1st to 9th of all schools (Government as well as private) of Jammu division which are falling under summer zone and affiliated of Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education recognised by the government of Jammu and Kashmir be promoted to next class grade for the academic session 2020-21 as a one-time exemption”.
The Director, Department of School Education Jammu shall monitor and finalize this process of promotion as per approved terms.
It added, “For class 11th summer zone, all the examinees, who were to appear in class 11th Annual regular examination falling under summer zone of Jammu Division (that stands postponed) be promoted to the Hr. Sec Part 2 (Class 12th) as one time exemption subject to the condition that the student has filled in the examination as a proper roll number slip is issued to him them by the JKBOSE”.
While as the examinees who were to appear in class 11th Biannual Private Examination falling under winter zone in both the divisions be considered for mass promotion, provided that such students have dully filled in examination forms as per JKBOSE norms and have been approved by the Board authorities.
However, the Jammu and Kashmir authorities have suggested that the promotion (in both the division) shall be subject to the condition that if any reason and at any suggest in future it is found that a candidate was not eligible for appearing in HSP-1 (Class 11th) ,but has been declared fir for promotion by the school. JKBOSE reserves the right to cancel his/her promotion without any prior notice.
