Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 22: Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners Welfare Federation/ Senior Citizens Civil Society Jndk, demanded return of J&K residents stranded outside J&K.
As the lockdown of Covid-19, continues till 3rd of May across the country, thousands of Jammu and Kashmir residents, including poor labourers and students are stuck in neighbouring and different states of the country. The present situation has made their survival difficult as these include women, children and old aged persons even patients as well without any means of survival like food, shelter, money etc”
Federation further said that a good number of people, especially those dealing with handicrafts, fruits, labourers and students from J&K are stranded in different parts of the country like Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and other parts of India who have exhausted their earnings and are facing immense difficulties and hardships. They are unable to pay for rent or food, medicines or drinking water and there is lot of uncertainty among their families.
These stranded people from Jammu and Kashmir are desperate to come back and remain in mandatory quarantine. It is imperative to follow regulations under Lockdown but simultaneously these stranded canot be denied help and left unattended. If the evacuation of similar stranded people from J&K is not possible at the moment during same situation, the least government could do is to reach out to them with the help of respective state governments where they are stranded in. They must be provided with enough food, water, shelter and other necessary materials.
It is also added here that the workers/ labourers/ students from other part of country who are stranded in Jndk the arrangements for their eviction may also be made at war footing basis for which the pensioners federation would provide all the necessary help in all areas of the state. Federation requests the Central Govt and State administration to make all possible efforts to resolve the issue at an earliest to redress their mental agony, frustrations, hardships and woes.
