BARAMULLA, Apr 22: Authorities here today discharged 24 more persons, who were kept under administrative quarantine at JNV Shahkote Uri following their contact history with positive cases, were released today after completing 19-day quarantine period. Sources while quoting the official as having said that, these persons were under thorough medical observation throughout their quarantine period and were discharged today only after testing came negative. These persons have been released today with the advice to observe home quarantine. The centre duty magistrate, Mushtaq Ahmad Bloot, who oversaw their discharge and transportation, was also present on the occasion, said sources.
Meanwhile, some good news has come from Bandipora district, from where a first COVID-19 patient of Kehnusa village was cured and discharged. He had tested positive and was the first COVID-19 case from Bandipora district.
Meanwhile, sources in Kupwara district said that over 50 people were quarantined after two women from red zone visited two families, adding a woman and the whole family has been quarantined. Andraham and Dragmulla in Kupwara district have been declared red zones after some cases surfaced in the village, sources added.
Meanwhile, the Executive Magistrates and Law enforcing agencies have been asked to ensure that orders pertaining to lockdown are implemented in letter and spirit specifically in light of ensuring holy month of Ramadhan.
The Auqaf Committees concerned shall be taken on board in advance along with the imams of Masjids and special announcements be got made regularly appealing people to offer prayers in their respective homes as has already been advised by the religious leaders/ Ulamas/Muftis, adding any person (s) found involved in violation of the orders shall be liable for strict action under law, said an advisory.
