Munish Gupta asks Government to solve problems of Dharap residents
Dharap residents worried over bad condition of roads in their area, blockage of drains
4/22/2020 10:26:14 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 22: People living in the Dharap area are perplexed over the bad condition of roads and lanes in the area. They are also upset with the fact that the garbage is not being lifted from the area thus creating nuisance.
The Dharap area is a part of the Gandhi Nagar constituency and it is presenting a sordid tale of absolute neglect from the people at helm. The successive governments have failed the people of this colony and they are suffering like anything.
Residents said that the roads of the area are in dilapidated condition adding that no concern has been shown towards this glaring problem of the colony. They said that roads should be maintained in proper condition so that the locals move around without any difficulty whatsoever.
“The tiles that have been laid on the roads have come off and they are yet to be set right by the authorities. During the rainy season the rain water gets collected in these ditches and potholes. It gets difficult to move around but the same does not make any difference for the people who ruled us in the past,” said the residents.
The residents said that the municipal authorities have failed them since the garbage remains unattended for days together thus creating problems for the people to move on the roads. They said that some of the garbage gets collected in drains thus creating yet another problem.
“The garbage including the polythene sheets gets collected in the drains and as such there is choking of the drains. Since the drains are open the foul smell emanating from the same create problems for the residents. This issue needs to be resolved and that too at the earliest,” said the residents.
The residents said that the roads need to be properly developed so that there is no dust during the summer season. They said that many health related issues in the area are due to the dust that comes up due to the bad roads of the area.
The residents said that they are craving for the basic amenities and it is the duty of the government to provide them all the facilities. They said that people of the area are living a primitive life since the basic amenities are being denied to them.
Munish Gupta, Editor-in-Chief Early Times has demanded that the government should pay immediate attention to the problems of the people living in the Dharap area. Munish said that people of the area have been left at the mercy of God and no concrete action is being taken to mitigate the sufferings.
Munish who is going to contest the next assembly election from Gandhi Nagar constituency as independent candidate said that the residents are not only entitled to basic things but to other things that come up with the passage of time. He said that swift action is need of hour and government should speed up the process of mitigating the problems of people.
