DC Rajouri finalises arrangements for the holy month of Ramadan

RAJOURI, APRIL 23: Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today convened a meeting of the concerned officers and religious members to discuss and finalise the arrangements to be made during the holy month of Ramadan.

During the meeting various issues were discussed in detail including availability of essential commodities, uninterrupted power and water supply, proper sanitation and fumigation, regulation of rates of essential items, functioning of street lights etc.

While speaking during the meeting, the DC directed the concerned officers from PHE and PDD to ensure the uninterrupted water and power supply respectively at the time of Sehri, Iftar and Namaz during the holy month of Ramadan.

He asked the Chief Medical Officer to ensure the availability of the essential medicare facilities during the month so that the general public do not face any inconvenience.

He asked the Assistant Director FCS&CA and Tehsildar Rajouri to conduct market checking on a regular basis to avoid hoarding, blackmarketing and overpricing of the essential commodities during the month. He further directed the authorities of FCS& CA department to keep available essential commodities for the general public.

Executive Officer Municipality Rajouri has been asked to maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation in the town and he has also been directed to ensure that the street lights in the town are fully functional during the auspicious days. He was also directed to ensure proper fumigation of the wards on daily basis.

DC asked the concerned officers to maintain coordination for the convenience of the general public and ensure that all the basic amenities are provided to them during these days so that the holy month of Ramadan can be celebrated in a smooth and successful manner in the district.

Moreover the DC has also appealed to the general to stick to the SOPs and guidelines of the lockdown by staying in their houses so that the CoronaVirus pandemic can be mitigated in the district.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Chandan Kohli, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional SP, Liyaqat Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf, Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Sanjeev Puri besides senior officers of concerned departments and representatives of different religious groups.
