COVID 19: Four Panchayats declared as Red Zones, Buffer Zones in Reasi

Jammu, Apr 27: A day after one person was tested positive on Mahore tehsil, five Panchayats were declared as Red Zones and Buffer Zones on Monday in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“One person belonging to Village Mahore has been tested positive for COVID-19 on April 26 and he may have met with the resident (s) of the village he belongs to and probably the residents of villages located adjoining to the said village making residents susceptible to COVID-19,” Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi here said in an order.
She said that by virtue of powers vested under the provisions of section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) 1973, the National Disaster Management Act 2005 and the Epidemic Diseases Act. 1897, ordered that it is necessary to break the further transmission of disease in the area and has become imperative to take stringent precautionary measures like declaring and mapping as Containment or Red Zone and surrounding areas as Buffer Zone.
The area involving Panchayat Mahore (D Jamlan), Panchayat Sarh (Upper – A) Bharni, Musra, Dhaka, Panchayat Bathoie (A Soo Narh), Panchayat Bathoie (C Mallah), shall be the Containment or Red Zone while the areas involving Panchayat Sarh (B Bagga), Panchayat Bathoie (A Bathoie), Panchayat Mahore (A Acharlla), Panchayat Bathoie (C Chitabass) shall be the Buffer Zone.
“There shall be no inward or outward movement of any person(s) from Containment /Red Zone and people shall slay at their homes under complete lock down and there shall be no vehicular movement even on the internal lanes or roads falling within these zones, she ordered.
However, nodal officers have also been appointed to make uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the people in these areas.
