SRINAGAR, Apr 27: Reasi district in Jammu division today became the latest entrant among districts of the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir to report a case of Corona Virus. In addition 22 other cases were reported from the different districts of the Kashmir valley.
With the fresh cases reported today the number of positive cases in Jammu & Kashmir has reached 546. Since 164 persons have recovered so far and seven others have died, the number of active cases in the union territory is 375. Today 27 persons recovered and they were discharged from the different hospitals.
Out of the active cases 348 are in Kashmir while as such cases are 27 in Jammu. In the past 24 hours Anantnag accounted for six fresh cases followed by Shopian (five cases), Baramulla (five cases), Bandipora (three cases) while as one case each was reported from Srinagar, Budgam, Kupwara and Reasi districts. While 15 cases were confirmed at the diagnostic lab of SKIMS-Soura, seven other cases were confirmed at COVID-19 testing laboratory at Chest Diseases hospital Dalgate.
As on date Bandipora has 127 positive cases out of which 102 are active positive, one death and 24 recoveries, Srinagar has 86 positive cases out of which 35 are active positive, one death and 50 recoveries, Shopian has 68 positive cases out of which 55 are active positive, 13 recoveries, Baramulla has 67 positive cases out of which 43 are active positive, three deaths and 21 recoveries.
Anantnag has 54 positive cases out of which 53 are active positive, one death, Kupwara has 48 positive cases, 39 are active positive, nine recoveries, Budgam has 15 positive cases, six active positive, nine recoveries, Ganderbal has 14 positive cases, nine active positive, five recoveries, Kulgam has six positive cases and all of them are active positive and Pulwama has three positive cases all of whom have recovered. In Jammu there are 26 positive cases, 11 active positive, 15 recoveries, Udhampur 20 positive cases, eight active positive, 11 recoveries, one death, Samba four positive cases and all of them are active positive, Rajouri four positive cases, one active positive, three recoveries, Kathua, Ramban and Reasi have one positive case with them being active positive and Kishtwar has one positive case that has recovered.
According to the advisory issued by the government it has emphasized on early detection of COVID-19 to prevent the spread of disease. “Let us be responsible for the well-being of ourselves and everyone around us. Not disclosing symptoms could put life of individuals and their families at risk. In case of symptoms like fever, cough and difficulty in breathing report early. Do not fear, call COVID-19 helpline Numbers and seek medical advice.”
Similarly, people are advised that, children must receive all the vaccine doses according to the Universal Immunization Programme to be fully protected against vaccine preventable diseases. People are advised in case their child missed a scheduled vaccination due to COVID-19 pandemic, reach out to your vaccination provider to confirm when & how to receive any missed vaccine doses.
Advisory urged people not to step out of home, unless absolutely necessary. “If you have to move out for unavoidable reasons, ensure that you wear a mask and practice social distancing, personal hygiene and frequent hand washing.” Similarly, all social, religious and other gatherings are strictly prohibited.
