Navin Choudhary chairs meeting to finalize CAPEX Budget 2020-21 for Technical Education Deptt
Rs 49.58 cr allocated for upgradation, Infra Dev for ITI, Polytechnic sectors

JAMMU, Apr 27: Principal Secretary, Technical Education Department, Navin Kumar Choudhary, today exhorted upon the officers of Technical Education Department to take all out efforts towards developing infrastructure of the department under CAPEX budget.
Principal Secretary issued these directions while chairing a meeting regarding finalization of plan under CAPEX budget of Technical Education Department for the financial year 2020-21. Director, Technical Education Department, Sajjad Hussain Ganie, Financial Advisor/CAO, TED, Kulbhushan, Joint Director Planning TED, Sapna Salathia, Accounts Officer, Sajad Ahmed and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting. Threadbare discussion was held regarding finalization of plan under CAPEX budget for 2020-21 as per ceiling conveyed by the Finance Department.
The meeting was informed that funds to the tune of Rs. 49.58 crore have been allocated under CAPEX budget 2020-21 for upgradation and infrastructure development including procurement.
Besides, Rs. 20. 50 crore has been allocated for development of Polytechnic sector out of total allocation including procurement of equipment for laboratories and other component like materials and supplies.
An amount of Rs. 29.08 crore has been allocated for development and upgradation of infrastructure under ITI sector of the department, of which, Rs. 2.50 crore has been allocated for ongoing and other works of ITI sector. Besides, Rs. 26.58 crore has been allocated for upgradation of infrastructure including machinery, equipment, materials and supplies.
Earlier, the officers briefed the meeting about details of various schemes and projects being carried out by the department.
Principal Secretary stressed upon the concerned authorities to work in a coordinated manner so that all works could be completed within stipulated time frame and better infrastructure be provided to students of Jammu and Kashmir.
