DDC inspects quarantine facilities at Chenani

UDHAMPUR, Apr 27: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla today conducted an extensive tour of tehsil Chenani and inspected facilities being provided to the people in quarantine centres and also took stock of essential services in the area.
During the tour, SDM Chenani, Abdul Sattar apprised that 3 quarantine centres have been established in tehsil Chenani with maximum capacity of about 360 beds. These quarantine Centres are established at Kendriya Vidyalaya Chenani with capacity of 260 beds and Sub District Hospital 60 while community facility centre 20 respectively. SDM and SDPO were asked to strictly monitor the movements of truckers /tanker drivers and cleaner during lockdown.
The DDC asked the concerned that all the persons returning from outside district should be quarantined and stressed on adherence of social distancing and follow up the SOPs. The DDC directed BMO Chenani to ensure that all staff remain present at their place of headquarter. The DDC also visited COVID-19 screening point at Chenani and reviewed arrangements being put in place for screening of passengers, coming from outside district. He also interacted with the staff on duty and asked them to screen each and every person very carefully as per protocol. He also inspected various facilities like bedding, hygiene, electricity, sanitation, and water facility. He asked the Municipality to ensure the fumigation and sanitization of the quarantine centres on daily basis. He also interacted with elected representatives of MC Chenani and PRIs.
The DDC urged the people to cooperate and encourage the frontline workers of different departments who are fighting against COVID-19. He appealed the people to stay at home, maintain social distance and follow advisories of health department in letter and spirit.
Meanwhile, the DDC also visited Red zone Narsoo area and reviewed the arrangements for providing essential commodities to the inhabitants of the area.
The DDC was accompanied by Nodal Officer, Narsoo Subash Dogra, DIO, Er Sajad Bashir Somberia, SDPO, Ahmed Shafi, Tehsildar Chenani, Rajesh Saraf and BMO.
