Jammu , May 14: Continuing with its mission to mitigate the sufferings of the needy people in old city of Jammu, amid ongoing lockdown due to Novel Corona Virus, Senior Congress leader Varun Magotra, today distributed ration and other essential food items among the needy people of Fattu Chugan and Purani Mandi. Accompanied by various Congress and social activists, Magotra appealed to leaders of different political, social and other groups to come forward to help the needy/ downtrodden people at this juncture- created due to the spread of Corona Virus pandemic.
Other grievances of people need also to be addressed by collective efforts of social, political, other activists on priority basis, he said, adding that our endeavour should be to reach the needy so that there is no one left without food.
While lauding various organisations for extending helping hand to needy and deserving citizens of Jammu region, the congress leader urged the authorities to ensure cleaning and sanitizing the city areas. There are many areas in and around the city with lot of dirt and debris, and the government especially Municipality, need to take remedial measures. Who accompanied Magotra in distribution of food items included Vice President DCC Madan Lal Malagar, Block President Congress Anand Gandotra Ji, Block President Mahila Congress Anju Devi, Pushpa Gupta Leader Mahila Congress, Ashok Kumar and others. |
