EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, May 20: The inmates who have been lodged under private quarantine centre facilities in Jammu have expressed their resentment against the undue delay in COVID-19 test reports as the hotels they are undergoing isolation is charging them heavily for each passing day.
“We are paying Rs 1500 per day for our stay at the hotel which is excluding facility for food,” said an inmate, while speaking to Early Times.
The inmate said that he has been kept at a hotel near Gummat area of Jammu city for quarantine adding that the COVID-19 samples of him and his family members were collected and sent for test for which the report has still been awaited.
Other people putting up in the hotel informed that they were quarantined on 15th of this month while their samples were collected and sent for testing.
“We were told that report will come in three days but now the concerned officer says that our samples have been misplaced and now you have to again give the samples,” said the quarantined people.
People said that the money with them has exhausted and they have nothing in pocket now, adding that that they should be allowed for home quarantine.
Many others at such quarantine centres are experiencing almost similar problems.
Sources informed that these people are kept in private hotels as there are no proper facilities with the government to accommodate them as facilities at MA Stadium and other quarantine centres are not up to the mark.
