Jandial Biradiri mourns Om Gupta’s death

Jammu, May 26: The Jandial Biradari has mourned the sad demise of Shri Om Parkash Gupta, former Secretary, Food & Supplies and father of former Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta IAS (Retd). He passed away on Sunday. He was 92.
The Executive Committee of All Jandial Sabha held a condolence meeting at online webinar platform here today with Patron Justice K K Gupta (Retd) in chair. Services of Sh Omji, as he was popularly known, for the biradari and J&K were recalled. Always a cheerful and profoundly helpful person, Omji remained a Private Secretary to Mir Qasim, Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah. Members of Jandial biradari fondly recall their association with Omji for long time and are saddened by his death at the time when even attending the rituals after his death by the members of the biradari has been restricted due to pandemic COVID-19. Even the condolence meeting was held on line on webinar platform.
The Committee conveyed its heartfelt condolences to Omji’s sons, Pradeep Gupta & Dr. Sunil Gupta ex- Associate Professor Medicine GMC Jammu, daughter Dr. Chanchal Gupta and son-in-law Dr. C D Gupta and grandson Dy. S.P. Varun Jandial KPS and shared their grief. The Committee prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. The meeting was attended by the Chairman, Er. I.C. Jandial, President, Raman Gupta, General Secretary. Rakesh Jandial, members including Subash Jandiyal, Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Er. O. P. Gupta, Mohan Lal Gupta and K.B. Jandial.
