The Raj Bhavan on 28th of January 2020 had sent a communication to Secretary RD&PR asking to submit a report into the matter. “This has reference to the news item “Former XEn REW Samba siphoned of (off) MGNREGA funds” appearing in the ‘Early Times’ in its edition dated 20/01/2020. Secretary RD&PR could not be contacted for her comment as well as the status of the report sought by the Raj Bhavan. However, apart from this the Secretary herself has gone tough against the tainted officials/officers of the department.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Early Times till date has exposed so many scams and brought the facts before public regarding the mess in Rural Development Department. Yet there are large numbers of back door appointees, promotees on bases of the degrees/diplomas secured from unauthorized institutions that too through backdoor channels.
