JAMMU, June 9: In a meeting of the JPPF, its members welcomed the decision taken by the government to keep Civil Secretariat functional at both the places i.e. Jammu as well as Srinagar. The members while terming the decision as historic extended heartiest thanks to the Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu and to his entire team for taking a revolutionary step by altering one and half century old system of move to summer and winter capital every six month.
The members said that we the people of Jammu are extremely happy and overwhelmed because it will not only save the hundreds of crores of rupees unnecessary wasted in transportation along with precious time wasted in movement, moreover public is also put to wait for many urgent works Further JPPF while discussing said that a long pending demand of Jammuites is fulfilled. Members were also of the opinion that this decision will also give a very big relief to all the Jammu/Srinagar based employees who were otherwise had to move every six month to Srinagar and vice versa.
