Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 9 :With the gunning down of an elected sarpanch from Dooru constituency of Anantnag district in broad daylight the other day has once again ashamed the Kashmiriyat and rattled the humanity as a whole by sending shock waves to all walks of society in union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Moreover, maintaining the criminal silence over the barbaric act of terrorists, the political as well as social leadership of Kashmir, who project themselves as champions of humanity seems to have been gagged by their voice and perhaps forced to keep. watching helplessly the brutal killing of an innocent person.
We have been falling prey to bullets of radical Islamist militants since the outbreak of Pakistan sponsored armed insurgency in 1989-90 and during the period we have seen the heart throbbing incidents like Vandhama and Chitthisinghpora massacres, assassination of highly reputed leaders like Tika Lal Tapiloo and Prem Nath Bhat and many many more but the voice of guns has not reduced while countless precious lives were silenced to death for no reasons so far, said social activist Sunil Pandita while talking to EarlyTimes here today. He said while paying tributes to martyr sarpanch Ajay Pandita (Bharti ) here at Jagti colony, that neither successive governments of Jammu and Kashmir now union territory nor at centre till date have even bothered to enquire about those FIRs which were pending in several police stations of valley regarding the brutal killings of Kashmiri Pandit community members nor they sought or issued any white paper on the issue so far which according to him was the need of the hour ,Sunil Pandita added.
