Abdullah family member comes out of hiding on social media
6/10/2020 12:18:04 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 9: Even as one of the children of former Chief Minister and National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abbullah had gone into apparent hiding after making alleged “fun of” India’s integrity, she has resurfaced on the same social media account.
Last month on May 27, the Abdullah family member had caused a stir after she said: “Let’s wait for the Chinese- perhaps they’ll restore 4GRolling on the floor laughing.”
The tweet had drawn serious response from the nationalists who termed it insult to India’s nationalist sentiment.
But as the electronic media raised the issue, by the same evening the account was not visible online.
Many had initially thought that she had got scared and deleted the account.
But sources close to the Abdullah family said that she was asked by her siblings to deactivate the account till the situation “gets normal” for her to return to the social media.
Sources said in the meantime, one of the members of the Abdullah family flew to the national capital.
In a veiled action he started to support his family member indirectly for the tweet on China.
Over the days, the family member, who is camping in Delhi, has been targeting those who criticized the tweet of his sibling.
Sources said the same member of the Abdullah family who is camping in New Delhi told the sibling that now it was normal to reactivate her account.
Dr Abdullah’s child is again active on the social media.
What is even shocking is that she has not deleted the controversial tweet on China.
“This is arrogance on the part of the Abdullah family that having reaped benefits from New Delhi for four generations, they are making fun of India… Jis Thaali Mein Khaya Us Mein Chaid Kartey Hein,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Despite repeated attempts the Abdullah family couldn’t be contacted for comments.
