Young GRS lost his life during “Mission Job Card verification”

Jammu June 9: In a tragic incident in remote Warwan area of Kishtwar District, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department during “Mission Job Card Verification” lost young GRS Mohammad Ashraf (27 yrs) while he was returning from duty from Sukhnie Panchayat of Warwan block after he falls into River Marru Sudhar near Margi while crossing it.
As per the details available available with “Early Times, the deceased was on its way back to home when he suddenly lost his control while riding a horse and falls into swollen river and only his dead body was retrieved by the locals from the river 6 KM ahead from the site of the incident.
The deceased was survived by his wife and 14 month old child.
Another of his colleague Shakir Shah also GRS while condoling the sad demise of the GRS Mohammad Ashraf demanded absorption of his wife as GRS in the department in place of her late husband so that she could take care of her children.
“Government should consider the demand of regularisation of the services of all the MGNREGA staff on the pattern of ReTs and other contractual employees who had completed 5 years or more in service” said Shakir Shah added that the previous government has almost accepted their demands and called for fulfilment of the promise made with them.
Meanwhile DC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara while expressing his grief and shock over the incident express his solidarity with the braved family and assured them that District Administration will do what ever possible they can do to help the family of braved GRS who died on duty.
Similar views was also expressed by Director RDD Jammu Sudarshan Kumar who also assured to look into the demands and issues raised by the GRS and MGNREGA staff.
