Div Com reviews progress on Jammu Ring Road, Languishing Projects

JAMMU, June 9: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today reviewed progress on Jammu Ring Road Project here at a meeting with the consultant team of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
The meeting discussed various components of the road project and bottlenecks being faced by the concerned authorities in the execution of works in Raya Morh, Tarore, Bishnah, Mira Saheb, Marh, Akhnoor, Bhalwal and Jagti areas.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Jammu South, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Jammu, Vijay Kumar Sharma; SDM Marh, Tariq Naik; SDM Jammu North, Pawan Kotwal; and SDM RS Pura, Ram Lal Sharma attended the meeting and highlighted the issues regarding the development of the ring road in their jurisdiction. DC Samba also attended the meeting via video conference and gave detail of works executed by the NHAI in the Samba district.
Project Director NHAI, Manish Baqaria gave a power point presentation about various components of ongoing works of Jammu Ring Road Project through.
Project Director assured that 14.3 KM stretch from Akhnoor to Bhalwal, funded under PM’s Development Package, would be handed over before July, 2020. He also gave area wise details and assured that all land issues of Jammu Ring Road would be cleared within one week. The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the NHAI authorities to take every initiative and speed up the works on the project. He also stressed upon them to resolve bottlenecks hindering the ongoing works in order to meet time lines.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the languishing project scheme and Back to Village Programme works in Jammu Province.
The Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division districts attended the meeting through video conferencing and briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the status of ongoing languishing projects of different departments like Education, PDD, PHE, RDD, UDD, health etc.
Divisional Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to take all necessary steps and follow the guidelines to complete all the works on priority basis.
