Politicians confuse us to remain relevant
6/10/2020 12:12:58 AM

Mahadeep Singh Jamwal

Mahatma Gandhi once said that a few drops of dirty water don’t make the ocean dirty, and that pertains perfectly to politics. When one lives life aware of the importance of politics, aware that every decision has an impact on an entire population, aware that our individual behavior is not the result of just we and those immediately around us, but it is also a result of governance, only then one can acknowledge, why it’s worth important to be politically aware. Society changes according to politics, which is a broad-based term that affect our daily lives, from what we can say and do to one another in our workplace, to the speed limits set on the roads we use to get to/from work. Politicians are the people who practice in the field of politics and generally define and set the laws and rules we follow on a daily basis. Politicians are generally elected by public vote and make up the legislative body of government. Politicians make decisions that affect nearly every area of our life.
Our society has keen interest in politics and passionate about the process through which the decisions that have a direct impact on our daily lives are reached. There is a strong apathy towards politics and government and is perhaps the greatest challenge we face currently in our democracy. But being disillusioned doesn’t mean that we can simply give up on politics, to do so would be to put our democracy at risk. This is also a hard reality that we are all tired of the old style of politics as every aspect of our daily lives is influenced by politics. This is also correct that all politicians are the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. Any profession has its bad apples, and it’s because of individuals and not groups of people. There are good people working to make a difference for their fellow citizens, the only thing to be realized is that the purpose of politics is to better the lives of the people.
If we go into the realistic picture of our society, then we should not hesitate to accept the fact, that we had always remained the victim of psychological attack by none else what by the fraternity who claim to be our savior. This all is due to the facts that we are not mentally so uplifted by our educational system as to make our independent opinion by utilizing our own mind free of pre-influence, which always remain in captivity of our leaders that may be in social, religious or our political aspect. All this is the handy work of these players who have trapped us in their game. Equipped with false sentiments and shield of politically correct jargon to cover their retreat, they have taken our rights and liberties of free mind and have constructed a prison for our minds. The politicians believe and practice that while it’s not always important to get what you want, it sure feels good sometimes. Confuse people to get comply your ideas, whether we like it or not. They believe that relationships can be held together, not only by telling the truth, but by also telling an occasional lie. We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought. We have to take moments to observe the world around us. We have to widen the horizon of our senses as to capture everything that is going on in the scenario of our activities. Our bad luck is that despite the fact that our visual system seems to provide us with a continuous viewing of the picture around us but most of the time it is only gathering information from a tiny patch of the visual field. In everyday life we encounter lots of situations that obscure or distort people's voices, yet most of the time we understand effortlessly.
This all is happening because we are not attempting to scrutinize or criticize our self. But any feelings of emotional pain or discomfort is a sign that we have not yet detached our self from emotions and this is the force which can ignite us to look for a change. Unexpected insights when viewed through an introspective frame of consciousness, it allow our thoughts to turn the regular events that punctuate our daily life. To be on the right side we have to search for our thoughts of past and future and require to answer questions as ‘what I have done in the past and what eventually I want to do in the future’, ‘what I have done with my time in the past and how do I want to spend the time I have left with’. We always thrust our vision although acceptable to all but we should not forget at the same time that even if one finger is raised to it that should be a concern of great importance and we should realize that something we are lacking, but we brush aside considering our self to be the only born intelligent on this universe, an ego destructive to our thoughts. Our trust in politicians is damaged. We can turn away from involvement with how we’re governed and all this is happening because of political corruption. Silence, in fact, actually helps us to sharpen our focus, so it’s useful for intense problem-solving or detail-oriented task. Logical thinking is to think on the basis of knowledge, what we know, and certainties, what we can prove. Yet we have to see the practicability of the words of ‘Niccol0 Machiavelli’ an Italian renaissance, historian, politician, diplomat, philosopher, humanist and writer: “A return to first principles in a republic is sometimes caused by the simple virtues of one man. His good example has such an influence that the good men strive to imitate him, and the wicked are ashamed to lead a life so contrary to his example. Concluding I will say that even after 72 years of independence, we are still trapped in between the soft lines drawn in between politics and politicians and by none else but politicians themselves.
