Advisor Bhatnagar visits health institutions of Udhampur, Reasi districts

JAMMU, June 13: Advisor to Lt Governor, RR Bhatnagar along with the Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Atal Dulloo and Director Health Services Jammu Dr Renu Sharma paid a visit to various health institutions of Udhampur and Reasi districts.
Advisor Bhatnagar and other senior officials visited Primary Health Centre Tikri and Health & Wellness Centre Mand and interacted with the staff and patients. Block Medical Officer Tikri Dr Manohar Lal gave a detailed description about how the patients are being managed, taking all safety measures both for health care workers and public at large. He also detailed the visiting dignitaries about the break out of Covid positive patients in block Tikri and their management and also briefed regarding the sampling of all the travellers coming by road, done at Kali Mata Mandir Tikri. Advisor and Financial Commissioner showed satisfaction with the overall working of the institutions and appreciated the efforts made by Block Medical Officer and staff of PHC Tikri. Advisor praised the efforts of BMO Tikri and staff for maintenance of Health & Wellness Centre Mand.
Later the team visited District Hospital Udhampur and took a detailed round of various sections of the hospital including Emergency, Dialysis, Indoor wards and other sections with Chief Medical Officer Udhampur Dr KC Dogra and Medical Superintendent Dr Vijay Basnotra who gave a Power point presentation and apprised the visiting dignitaries that at present 94 Covid positive patients are admitted in a separate block in DH, Udhampur which has been designated as Covid Health Centre (DCHC). MS gave a detailed description regarding the work done status of DH Udhampur despite all hardships as recently 19 staff members including two doctors turned Covid positive. Further, MS added that the whole team of DH Udhampur is working hard with all zeal and dedication to combat this pandemic situation to provide medical relief to the people of Udhampur and adjoining districts. Financial Commissioner H&ME directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure the safety of the doctors and paramedics who are frontline workers and are directly dealing with Covid positive patients.
On the way back, the visiting dignitaries visited Community Health Centre Katra and were received by Deputy Commissioner Reasi Indu Kanwal Chib, Chief Medical Officer Reasi Dr Pritam Singh Thakur and Block Medical Officer CHC Katra Dr Gopal Dutt. Advisor (B) and the team took a round of the hospital and inspected various sections including Immunisation section and Maternity section.
